Depending on the 65% you get, you can program a numpad layer like so. I think the row stagger will forever make the number row feel weird, at least to me. If you want to go to a 65% keyboard, I would look at an ortholinear one where you can make a number pad as a layer. Or at least the number row will be in line. Nothing special.
Why does iPhone not have a number row on the stock keyboard? It has been 10 years. iPad can swipe up on letters to get numbers. On the keyboard can hold the number button and then drag/swipe to the digit you want and when you release it goes back to letters. It’s pretty quick.

All in all I found that pressing the 'keyboard selection' box and choosing handwriting box 1 or 2 is the easiest way. A shame, you can't switch to the numeric keyboard though.
It was bugging so I uninstalled swift key not knowing it had been discontinued and I couldn’t redownload it. So, is there truly no way to add a numbers row to the stock keyboard? Bonus question: is there a way to download swift key again from somewhere other than the App Store? iPhone 12 Pro, USA, iOS 16. Thanks!
Almost 190 secret characters are hiding behind your iPhone's default keyboard, and I'm not talking about what you see after tapping the "123" or "#+=" keys. These special composite characters can include accents, dots, and other diacritics, and you'll even see some strange typographical characters like the section sign, inverted marks, and per mille symbol. Here's how you find them.
iPad keyboard numbers row at top I'm brand new to IPAD; first ever non-PC device. Why don't any of the offered keyboards for the IPAD (mini) include a regular numbers row at the top? I've learned to deal with it, but hate switching keyboards, and even the "flick" movement to get a gray-colored number to appear is kind of a pain.
3. Posted: Jan 4, 2017. Options. I don't know what damage this bluetooth AZERTY KYBD that was given to me had (probably liquid), but the : WXCVBN, and left command keys were not working. Hung it out to dry, punched a little harder on these lower keys, and, especially, '''carefully cleaned the flatcable at the receptor end with isopropanol (IPA).

1 day ago · If you are on Android or a Windows Mobile device it is hit or miss, however it should work absolutely fine with an external keyboard. It is highly recommended to learn touch typing on a physical keyboard for the tactile feedback, and bluetooth keyboards can be obtained very inexpensively these days (i.e. as little as $10).
If you are not tapping down straight, it can type the number. All of the keys that have a grey letter or number character above them will do that. You can turn off Key Flicks in Settings to remove those additional characters. Go to Settings>General>Keyboards>Enable Key Flicks and turn that Off. View in context.
iPhone Keyboards: Adding a number row to the iPhone keyboard is slightly different than Android. As iOS has more restrictions than Android with regards to customization, we’ll need to use a third-party app to add a number row to the iPhone keyboard. Step 1: Install the app “NumberKey – Number Keyboard” from the App Store.
